Who is going?  Looks like Rosborough is there with their Hammerhead commercial boat but no RF246? We plan to be there Saturday & stay over Saturday night.

We are going with some friends from our marina. I think Karen has us booked at a room at the Eastland hotel for Saturday night? Hope to see you and Laurie there.

Maybe we could talk Pete into using Sooner for a display. Sooner looks exactly like a factory new boat. It's unbelievable!   Grin

Hi Barry, Matt, etal,

Expanding on my KISS principle, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I think the factory had it figured just about right!

I went into the Boston Boat Show last week & was majorly dissapointed. The web site for the show stated that Rosborough boats would be there but they were not. I checked later & they did not list Rosborough under the "Exhibitors" but they did list it under "Boats". Very annoying as that's really the only reason we went in. Mostly clorex bottle shaped boats, only a couple of downeasters. Ranger Tugs were there with  25 & 29 foot models. Just made me appreciate my RF-246 all the more. I still think it's a much better layout.

Have fun in Portland.

Seems the boat shows "Ain't what they used to be" all around from what I gather on several forums.  We did the Atlantic City show last month. They had a decent electronics section but no other accessories or boats that we cared about. Most interesting thing was the blizzard and all the closed business because of a little snow.
Hey Pete--love your "clorax bottle" description. My thoughts exactly regarding about 90 percent of new boats

Agree.  I went to Boston as well. It was cut down by 1/3rd.  I heard the Newport Spring Boat show is canceled entirely. In my area, two production boat builders have gone out of business, bought up by larger companies & relocated (Albin & Legacy). Hopefully the strong will survive & the gene pool will be for the better. It may be coincidental, but both Albin & Legacy had a reputation of being a good product with lousy customer relations - definitely not companies built on customer referrals.

doggone it, barry, can't you do something about making any new posts go to my email??  i missed so much chit-chat and had a ton of stuff to read to get caught up!

we used to go to the miami show every year when tom was working for zodiac.  it is a HUGE show with several venues, both in the water and out of it plus a used boat brokerage that extends along the water from miami to fort lauderdale.  we heard the show was REALLY SAD this year, probably cut down by more than 50%.  the marine industry is not doing so well Sad

anyway, the weather is finally getting marginally decent down here in southern VA with quite possibly our first time anchoring out for the year this coming weekend IF the weather cooperates. we've been living aboard ten months now, survived the winter and all.  can't wait until the season is in full swing again and can get rid of the damn humidifier and the window film.  at least i'm back to taking a shower in my own bathroom again!  padding over to the bath house in a blizzard and then piling all my wet hair into a hat to pad back to the boat in same blizzard just doesn't seem right, ya know?  hi everyone Smiley

Congratulations to Calleggra on surviveing her first winter aboard.  It has been a nasty season so future winters should be a piece of cake.
You mentioned not getting new posts on your email.  I also miss that. Was getting them up to maybe 4-6 weeks ago(?).  That was a nice feature.  Maybe it can be reinstituted?
58 dergees and full sun here in southern Vermont today.  Still ice on some parts of Lake Champlain. Can spring be far away?

Sorry guys I don't know why the emails stopped been delivered. I get them sent to me sometimes and other times they don't. Might be a software glitch? I tried updating the software but have been unsuccessful. I keep getting and error in the downloads and I'm afraid to crash the whole board.
I'm going to look into it a bit further but my limited computer skills have my hands tied. Huh

When you sign into the board you can scroll to the bottom of the forum homepage and click on "recent posting" and it will show you all the postings from your last log in. Hope this helps.

Great time at the boat show with very warm weather. Got to see Herb. We missed getting to speak with Matt and Laurie. We got to see Bob's his wife and talk with them.

Went to Ri Ra's pub after the show and had some fun. Shocked
